SOFTWARE

LEVEL 4

Introduction
The primary role of a software developer is to build and test simple, high-quality code across front end, logic and database layers. A developer will typically be working as part of a larger team, in which they will have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall project. The developer will need to be able to interpret design documentation and specifications. The customer requirements will typically be defined and agreed by more experienced or specialist members of the team, such as a business analyst or technical architect.

During this time, you’ll be working alongside developers, learning their language (agile, scrum, sprints) and adding value to their work from day one.

What will I learn?
Alongside improving your coding skills in languages such as C#, JavaScript and Java you’ll learn how to contribute to the Software Development lifecycle with increasing breadth and depth over time with initial focus on build and test.

In addition, you’ll be able to gather and capture requirements, interpret technical specifications and understand, research and solve problems.

What qualifications can I gain?
As part of the Level 4 Software Developer you’ll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to a range of industry recognised qualifications, in demand by employers including:

LEVEL 4

Introduction
The primary role of a Data Analyst is to collect, organise and study data to provide business insight. Data analysts are typically involved with managing, cleansing, abstracting and aggregating data, and conducting a range of analytical studies on that data. They work across a variety of projects, providing technical data solutions to a range of stakeholders/customers issues. They document and report the results of data analysis activities making recommendations to improve business performance. They have a good understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and the range of analytical tools used to undertake a range of different types of analyses.

What will I learn?
Data analysts assist companies to access and order the terabytes of data they accumulate or have access to and then make this accessible by visualising this data in real time dashboards.

You’ll learn the data life cycle including the different types of data,the differences between structured and unstructured data and the fundamentals of data structures, database system design, implementation and maintenance and apply the tools and techniques for data analysis, data visualisation and presentation.

What qualifications can I gain?
As part of the Level 4 Data Analyst you’ll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to a range of industry recognised qualifications, in demand by employers including:

Introduction
The primary role of a Software Tester is to ensure that software operates as intended. Testers typically design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure that software is fit for purpose. They document and report the results of testing activities. They have a good understanding of the software lifecycle and software development practices.,

What will I Learn?
You will learn how to plan, design and deliver a range of test strategies, plans and scripts on software applications (including desktop, web, mobile, embedded, mainframe) and how to log and report on these in a range of environments.

What qualifications can I gain?
