Teaching and Learning - Our Approach
Our approach to teaching and learning is based on two well respected methodologies
The Flipped Classroom
The idea that traditional teaching and lecturing is not the best use of a learner’s time and instead learners are encouraged to learn at their own pace and take responsibility for their learning.
This allows coaches to provide individualised support to learners
Socratic Learning
Put simply, the process that encourages learners to learn through being asked open questions rather than simply being told the answer. Examples include:
- “When would you…?”
- “Why did you…?”
- “What would you…?
- “How could you…?”
Both approaches work well with 1-2-1 coaching and encourage active learning, critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the subject
