By completing the Level 5 Data Engineering apprenticeship the apprentice will be able to:
- Design and build reliable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data from structured and unstructured sources in batch and real-time
- Apply data engineering and software development principles to support scalable, maintainable, and secure data platforms
- Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve data flows to meet service levels and resolve data issues effectively
- Implement data quality controls, understand data lineage, and address root causes of data quality issues
- Store, model, and manage data using modern data architectures including data warehouses, lakes, and marts
- Analyse data using descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive techniques to support insight and decision-making
- Capture and manage user requirements to ensure data solutions with business needs
- Work ethically, securely, and responsibly with data, complying with legal, regulatory, and organisational standards including GDPR and data protection legislation
